Portraits are like maps. They must be correct in every angle and relation in reference to their geography or you will get lost: you won't be "there". Every face has its own topography, and every distance, every light and dark, every color, has meaning specific to that landscape. For it to be right, it has to be right!

I get it right.

Each face in its uniqueness expresses that universal and mysterious thing which is soul. All experiences of the soul are contained in the face. I get joy from the study of this. What constitutes expression? What is a smile, what is a regard? There is nothing stranger than teeth, except maybe eyes and ears... and noses.

My pictures are bright, vivid, clear. I aim for reality mixed with a kind of divine enhancement. Think of Hindu billboards, think of Walt Disney. Those fairy eyes and lashes...    How I Work  >>
